Establishing a printed Nightingale Magazine gives us the opportunity to preserve our creations and acknowledge each other in a lasting way.

Here’s what a few leaders in our industry say about us:

Nightingale has been a constant source of fresh and insightful comment about our field. It has been especially strong in allowing new and diverse authors to share their views. We thrive on the breadth of our knowledge, and Nightingale has led the way.”

~Andy Cotgreave
Tableau, Senior Technical Evangelist

“The diversity, quality, and regularity with which Nightingale has been publishing Data Visualization articles since its start has made it indispensable in teaching (all experience levels) about the field and its history, starting conversations, and geeking out over the smallest tidbits, historic visuals, and more.”

~Nadieh Bremer, Dataviz Designer & Developer

“From theoretical discourse, through historical legacies of the field’s pioneers, to the practical stories of everyday practitioners, and the thematic studies of critical techniques, Nightingale has gone from nothing to absolutely everything, seemingly, in the blink of the eye!”

~Andy Kirk, Author

Frequently Asked Questions

How can I change my shipping address?

Subscribers can change their shipping address by logging into your DVS profile and selecting “Edit your profile.”

Unfortunately, there is no way to change your shipping address for single-issue sales.

How long does shipping take?

Our distribution partner mails all orders on a monthly basis, typically mid-month. Once an order ships, delivery to most parts of the world takes 2-3 weeks; shipments to Australia and New Zealand take closer to 6 weeks. The long timeline is in part due to the time it takes for packages to navigate through international customs. Thank you for your patience!

Can I track my order?

Generally, no. Many orders are shipped via standard post (like a letter) so are not tracked. Larger orders and orders to some countries are tracked, but we do not have an easy way of getting this information from our distribution partner to you.

My magazine never arrived, or it arrived damaged. What can I do?

First, ensure that you have waited long enough; see the shipping timelines above. After that, you may contact us to ensure that your order shipped. Unfortunately, as a small, volunteer-run non-profit, we are generally not able to send a replacement copy. Our fine print: We will ship you a magazine once, to the address you provide at the time of payment. We are not responsible for incorrect addresses, lost or delayed mail, or damage during shipping. Thank you for understanding.

Do you ship globally?

Nightingale has always taken a global approach, so we aim to fulfill our print publication globally as well. Yes, it’s extra work, but we feel our global community deserves equal representation and access.

Unfortunately, we are unable to fulfill to Russia and Ukraine presently.

What does my print subscription include?

** Subscriptions are temporarily suspended while we update our fulfillment process. Issue 1 and Issue 2 are currently available only as single-issue purchases, while supplies last. Stay tuned! **

Two issues of Nightingale Magazine will be mailed to you per calendar year. After the second issue arrives, we’ll ask if you want to renew.

Can I order in bulk for my company, department, school, etc.?

Yes! Contact us for a price quote for orders of six or more copies.
